Getting the right coconuts (preferably the green ones), husking the Coconuts, pounding it so we can get to the nice thick fibers is part of the cleaning process and takes a lot of time and energy.

We basically buy our bones fresh from the meat markets here on the Island of Hawaii'. He then boil the bones, scrapes all the meat and access material off and dries them naturally.

We use a lot of the Black and Gold Mother of Pearls.

Shells of the Pacific

Dean uses a lot of Shells given by family and friends from Tahiti and whatever he comes in contact with. Cowries, Abalone, and New Zealand Paua Shells
